Baking the cakes

This lesson we made the bases for our cupcakes. I mixed and took charge of the vanilla ones above! They turned out really good! We just made them out of the white wings packet mix as this gives the cupcakes a consistent texture. First i sifted the dry mixture into a bowel. This ensures that air gets through the mix making them rise lots and become fluffy! Then i cracked the eggs, added the milk and added the melted butter. Straight away i started to mix on a low speed. Once the mixture was combined i turned up the speed and really beaten until the mixture was creamy, thick and fluffy. Lastly i used to spoons to spoon the mixture into the patty cakes making them 3/4 the way full. This gives room to rise and i made sure they were filled to all the same height. I then put them in the oven for about 18 minutes. i waited for them to turn golden and have a slight bounce back when i touched them. Overall the baking went really well for Georgia and sophie (my partners) as well! as you can see all of our cupcakes above georgia made the chocolate and sophie made the other vanilla on the left! We are now ready to decorate them next lesson!
